The Art Market this year didn't disappoint, although I was concerned that the simultaneous occurrence of the contemporary art event might weaken each other—can Budapest sustain two such significant contemporary art fairs together? Firstly, why is it worth attending these events?
Because you can meet gallery owners who gladly discuss the artists they represent, their work, and collections. Additionally, you can meet the artists themselves, converse about their pieces, how they were made, and what they express. It's possible to make purchases, although I'm not entirely ready for that. Overall, I've once again noticed that even without signs indicating the big names or the small artists, you can recognize them, such as Imre Bak, Ilona Keserű, Imre Bukta, Károly Klimó, Ágnes Kertészfi, István Nádler etc.Artists arrived from various countries around the world. Personally, my favorites were the oil monsters by Alek Slon on a Tiffany green background.
Vera Klaus's cheerful, Paszel acrylics from Germany
and the artworks made with pencil, ink, and mixed techniques by Marois Fournaris stood out.
Lastly, but not least, I would have been happy to purchase the creations of Otohito Moriyasu, the gallery artist from Japan.
